open source face recognition usable with Darktable (the backend is Deepface)

See the code. It's basically a Java frontend for deepface that uses exiftool to write metadata into pictures in a standardized way so that it is readable by darktable and other programs that comply to this standard.

Do you refer to https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightworks ? DDC does not read videos, just pictures including most camera raw formats.

correct, DDC (Darktable's Deepface Companion) writes the face areas and names into the pictures or sidecar files (if found). Any other program can use them as long as they comply to the standard XMP, see links in README.md.

So your program is a standalone solution where you can use all the different engines and models by choice

And... it lets you compare the outcome/effectiveness of those models.

And.... if the underlying backend Deepface adds new detectors and (recognition) models from time to time, DDC will include them more or less automatically. Or let's put it like this: It's just a configuration. No programming needed.

For example the detector yolov8 was included recently by Deepface. It turns out to be the most useful detector for my needs.

What also does work... If you don't have Python and Deepface installed it is still possible to read the face areas and names from the pictures itself, to change them and to write the changes back to the picture.

interesting would be if face tags could be also transmitted info HZ and streams Tags

habe heute versucht faces zu aktivieren.... und es funktioniert nicht... würde dir gerne die logs per DM schicken.. aber auch das funktioniert nicht
